Mogadishu, February 23, 2025 – The Senior Advisor to the Minister of Internal Security on Media Affairs and Public Relations, Munasar Abdirahman, participated in a crucial workshop on media relations during emergency situations. The workshop was organized by the Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism, focusing on the role of the media in crisis management and public awareness during emergencies.
During the workshop, participants discussed the best strategies to enhance collaboration between security agencies and the media to ensure that the public receives accurate and official information during critical situations. They also exchanged experiences and techniques to combat misinformation and promote transparency during security threats.
Munasar Abdirahman emphasized the vital role of the media in national security, highlighting the strong partnership between the Ministry of Internal Security and media institutions to ensure the dissemination of reliable and factual information to the public.
This workshop is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the media’s capacity to relay accurate information during emergencies, aiming to raise public awareness and counter false narratives.
