Director General Chairs Directors Meeting to Review Priority Security Initiatives

MOGADISHU, Somalia โ€“ The Director General of the Ministry of Internal Security of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mr. Mohamed H. Shire, today chaired the Ministryโ€™s regular Directors Meeting to review progress on priority activities, strengthen institutional coordination, and assess preparations for the upcoming National Security Conference.

The meeting brought together Directors of the Ministryโ€™s departments to review the implementation of ongoing work plans, evaluate progress achieved across key sectors, and discuss priorities for the coming period. Participants exchanged updates on departmental activities and explored practical measures to improve coordination and enhance the effective delivery of the Ministryโ€™s mandate.

Discussions focused on a range of strategic priorities, including institutional reform, human resource development, financial and administrative management, digital transformation, stabilization efforts, public awareness, and strengthening coordination among national security institutions. The meeting also reviewed progress on the modernization of internal systems, workforce capacity-building initiatives, and preparations for the National Security Conference.

In addition, participants emphasized the importance of reinforcing cooperation between federal institutions, regional authorities, and international partners to support the Ministryโ€™s reform agenda and enhance national security governance. Directors highlighted the need to accelerate the implementation of key policies, strengthen institutional accountability, and improve service delivery across all departments.

Concluding the meeting, the Director General commended the Directors for their continued dedication and professionalism, urging all departments to strengthen collaboration, maintain accountability, and expedite the implementation of priority initiatives. He further directed all directorates to finalize preparations for the upcoming National Security Conference in line with the Ministryโ€™s strategic objectives and reaffirmed the Ministryโ€™s commitment to building a modern, effective, and accountable security institution that serves the people of Somalia.
