Mogadishu, Somalia – The Minister of Internal Security, H.E. Gen. Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail (Fartaag), today opened the Border and Airport Security Capacity-Building Partnership Program, aimed at strengthening the institutions responsible for border management and airport security.
The program will enhance institutional capacity, modernize border management, strengthen airport security, and deepen cooperation between the Federal Government of Somalia and international partners.
Speaking at the launch, Minister Fartaag described secure borders and airports as fundamental to national security and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to building professional security institutions capable of addressing cross-border threats while facilitating safe and lawful travel.
