Ministry of Internal Security Senior Leadership Reviews Institutional Performance and Strategic Prioritie

Mogadishu, Somalia – 24 May 2026: The Minister of Internal Security, H.E. Gen. Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail (Fartaag), today chaired the Ministry’s monthly senior leadership meeting attended by State Minister Mr. Mohamed Ali Haga, Deputy Minister Gen. Sulub Ahmed Firin, Director General Mr. Mohamed Shire, and departmental directors.

The meeting focused on reviewing the Ministry’s institutional performance, strengthening interdepartmental coordination, and accelerating the implementation of key priorities related to internal security and public service delivery.

During the session, the Director General and departmental directors presented progress updates on administration and finance, planning and policy, human resource management, and ongoing operational activities, including key achievements, existing challenges, and implementation priorities for the coming period.

Discussions also centered on enhancing institutional accountability, strengthening financial and administrative systems, improving coordination mechanisms, and advancing the Ministry’s strategic objectives and operational effectiveness.

In his closing remarks, Minister Gen. Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail (Fartaag) underscored the importance of teamwork, accountability, and sustained collaboration in advancing Somalia’s internal security priorities and strengthening service delivery for the Somali people.
